Basketball

This is how to do a proper lay up in basketball

Ferguson Jenkins

Today in math we learned about Ferguson Jenkins he is in the hall of fame. When he was younger he played in the major leagues baseball for the cubs and other teams. He was a professional baseball player Ferguson got 334 votes to be in the hall of fame.

Percent to decimal

First you divide the percent by 100. Then you get your decimal. 75% divided by 100=0.75 Or just move the decimal over two. Like this 75. would be .75

Fergie Jenkins HOF Video Bio.mov

fergie Jenkins is a Canadian baseball player and we figured out the percent of the votes that the writers gave him so he could get into the hall of fame

How to do a Double Lutz

1) Do backwards cross cuts clockwise

2) Glide your left foot on a outside edge

Alex Ovechkin Hits Zbynek Michalek (Multiview) - Jan 22, 2012 (HD)

i think he shouldn't had go an 3 game suspension because he barely left his feet

Ovechkins Suspension

I think Ovechkin should have not gotten 3 games for the head shot because it was a good hard hit and the player he hit ducked down.

Alley

In spelling this week one of the words was alley. the definition of alley is, a passage, as through a continuous row of houses, permitting access from the street to backyards, garages.

Grammar

This week in grammar we learned how write paragraphs properly. First you have to have a topic sentence, then you have to have 4 supporting sentences. And capitals and periods.

Hepititis

Hepititis is a really infectious disease that comes from contaminated water and food and can really make you sick. 2 billion people are infected with it and 600,000 die. I learned about this in Social class.

Cluster a Outline

Earlier this week in grammar we did clusters and outlines for our 5 paragraphs. A cluster is what you draw when you ned ideas for paragraphs. The outline is writing a few sentences for the five paragraphs.

basketball

in gym the other day we were playing basketball and sometimes in basketball you have to shoot from a distance away for a three pointer when you do this you have to throw the ball in a arch and throw the ball with just one hand the other hand is just for aiming.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Letter to the editor

PARENTS SHOULD BE CHARGED

On NOV. 26 a 5 year old boy found a gun and shot his 4 year old sister. I think the parents should be charged with unsafe gun control and possession of drugs.i think they should have had a trigger lock on the gun and they should have had it put out of the children's reach.

Ovechkin doesnt deserve three games

Letter to the editor

Ovechkin doesn’t deserve three game suspenion

I don’t think Alexander Ovechkin deserved the three game suspenion. I think it was a clean hit. It wasn’t dirty at all. The game was on Monday , 23rd. Alexander hit pitsburgh penguins defenceman Zybnek Michalek. The game was in pitsburgh there caps were on a road trip. T think Alexander just layed the good hard hit. I think that Zybneck was just trying to make it worse after.

Grammar

In grammar today we did a paragraph. I did a paragraph on Volleyball.

In math we are learning about percent . Here is an example of changing a decimal to a percent 0.6 = 60% This is how I found out the answer I took 0.6 and multiplied it by 100 and it told me the answer was 50%.

Paragraphs

Writing paragraphs are super easy!! There should be about 5 sentences in a paragraph. All the sentences should start with different word and of course start in a capital and end in a period. Those are the main thing.

Changing decimals into percents

When you change a decimal into a fraction you multiply it by a hundred, because every percent is out of 100. Here is an example of changing a decimal to a percent 0.6 = 60% This is how I found out the answer, I took 0.6 and multiplied it by 100 and it told me the answer.

Turning decimals to percents

Well first you have to know that percents are out of 100. Now when you have a decimal like this 0.65 all you do is multiply it by 100 which would make it 65%.

How to do a Double Flip

1) Skate forwards

2) Do a left forward outside three turn

3) Put the right toe pick in

4) Pivot till you're forwards

5) Jump

6) Rotate

7) Check land

Fractions to Percents

To change a fraction to a percent, you have to change the fraction to have a denominator of 100. Then change the fraction to a decimal, multiply it by on hundred, and you have your percent.
Eg) 3/5 = 60/100 = 0.6 x 100 = 69 = 69%

If you can't change the denominator to one hundred, then you divide the numerator by the denominator, and multiply it by one hundred.
Eg) 3/8 = 3 / 8 = 0.375 x 100 = 37.5%

Basketball

Basket ball is a team sport. To play it you need a basketball, two basketball nets and players you try to get around players by passing or dribbling through players you want to make short passes so the other team cant get it as easy you want to shoot and get it in the opponents basket if you do you get 2 points.

basketball

in basket ball if u have room to run to the basket and you get close enough you bounce the ball off the back board and hope it goes in.

Basketball

Basketball is a sport that we played in gym. It is a team sport so you have to pass the ball a lot, and the only way to move with the ball is to dribble it on the floor and if you don't you get a foul.
But the objective is to throw the ball into a basket and that's how you get a point. Also you can't touch the person with the ball or that's a foul. If you or someone on your team touches the ball last as it goes out of bounds the other team gets the ball, it works either way.

Percents

We started a new unit in math this week it is percents. Here is an example of changing a decimal to a percent 0.4 = 40% This is how i found out the answer i took 0.4 and multiplied it by 100 and it told me the answer.

Percents

Percent's are easy! as long as you remember that it means out of 100. i remember this because the percent sign looks like one hundred :%. If you are doing questions like this : 78/100 you know that it it 78% because it is 78 out of 100 but if it is like this: 12/50 you just double it so it looks like:24/100 which means it equals 24%. If its 1/4 you just do 1 divided by 4 on your calculator which equals 25%.

Percent

This week in math we learned about percent. Percent is something that is about 100 percent.

Spelling

In spelling this week we learned the word luxury the way I spelt it on the pre-test was luxery but instead of the E put U.
Luxury.

Muktiplying Integers

There are four rules to multiplying integers.

1) positive x positive = positive
eg) (+3) x (+3) = (+9)

2) negative x negative = positive
eg) (-3) x (-3) = (+9)

There are only three words in the English language that start with d-w. They are dwindle, dwell, dwarf.

spelling

In spelling I learned how to spell geography and democracy.

drills for thrills

in basketball we are learning about how to pass shoot and make plays

drama

In drama we are doing poems. We have to read it to our selves then we have to read it to the class.

Poem

My poem is this

My Teacher Ate My Homework

My teach ate my homework,
Which I thought was rather odd.
He sniffed at it and smiled
with an approving sort of nod.

He took a little nibble
it's unusual, but true
then had a somewhat lager bite
and gave a thoughtful chew.

I think he must of liked it,
for he really went to town.
He gobbled it with gusto
and he wolfed the whole thing down.

He licked off all his fingers,
gave a burp and said, "You pass."
I guess that's how they grade you
when your in cooking class.

Kenn Nesbit

My Dog Ate My Homework

In drama everyone has to present a story to the class. the story has to be 12 lines long
Here's my story.

My Dog Ate My Homework
My dog ate my homework.
That mischievous pup
got hold of my homework
and gobbled it up.

My dog ate my homework.
It's gonna be late.
I guess that the teacher
will just have to wait.

My dog ate my homework.
He swallowed it whole.
I shouldn't have mixed it
with food in his bowl.

in gym today we were learning how to pass a ball one way is the chest pass that is when you put the ball in front of the chest and push out to the other persons chest.

Quotation marks

earlier this week in grammer we learned about quotation marks. You use quotation marks when a person is speaking and when there done talking.

Quotation marks

You use quotation marks to show the exact words of the speaker. Use a comma or another punctuation mark to seperate the question from the rest of the sentence. A quotation may be placed at the beginning or the end of a sentence. Begin the quotation with capital letters.
today in grammar we learned where to put commas and quotation marks in a sentence.

News paper

Order of Operations with integers

When you do order of operations with integers you have to remember that when you subtract with integers you have to turn it into a addition sentence. Here is an order of operations questiom

+2-(-5)x7+(+8)
+2-(-35)+(+8)
+2+(+35)+(+8)
(+37)+(+8)
(+45)
See how i turned the subtraction sentence to an addition.

Subtracting Integers

To subtract an integer add its opposite. First rewrite each subtraction sentence as an addition sentence. Then solve. Eg)

(+4) - (+7) =
(+4) + (-7) = (-3)

(+4) - (-4) =
(+4) + (+4) = (+8)
